Richard Kaplan, MD completed
his medical education at the University of Miami, Coral
Gables, Florida through the Honors Program in Medical
Education; he received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Science, magna cum laude, and a Doctor of Medicine with
research distinction. Subsequently Dr. Kaplan completed an
internship in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester,
Minnesota, and a Residency in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is
Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation and by the American Academy of Pain
Management. |

| Dr. Kaplan has published
numerous articles in the areas of physical rehabilitation
and engineering and has made presentations on these topics
in collaboration with colleagues both nationally and
internationally. He has over 15 years of experience in the
field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. For over a
decade, Dr. Kaplan has maintained a diverse private practice
of physical medicine and rehabilitation which includes
management and treatment not only of work injuries and auto
injuries but also a wide spectrum of inpatient and
outpatient musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. In
addition to this active treating practice, Dr. Kaplan serves
as a physician evaluator for the worker's compensation
systems in three states (Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West
Virginia) and he has served as an independent medical
examiner and/or expert witness in a variety of cases
involving physical disability and musculoskeletal or
neurological injuries. |

| Dr. Kaplan is also a commercial
pilot, flight instructor, and aviation medical examiner with
a special interest in assisting physically disabled
individuals on how to fly. |
