Module 2 - Treatment Parameters and Evidence Based Treatment
In the field of Psychology and Neuropsychology, the development of a treatment plan is the last stage of the comprehensive evaluation of the patient. This module will explain how treatments are chosen and what outcomes are expected. The advantages of a multidisciplinary approach are presented and evaluation criteria will be delineated. Steps to prevent relapse will also be explained.
 
Types of treatment will be outlined and put in the context of evidence-based medicine. Often a combination of approaches is needed to best treat the patient. These particular approaches are explained for Major Depressive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Head Trauma.
   
  Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to:
    • Understand how a treatment plan is developed  
    • Grasp the definition of evidence-based medicine
